Policy blog details BAT’s past links with military in Myanmar

Dr. Ross MacKenzie of Macquarie University voices concerns over British American Tobacco (BAT)’s business in Myanmar in a blog post for the Asia & The Pacific Policy Society.
From 1999 to 2003, BAT was at the centre of a scandal for working with a Burmese military agency. The new military regime in Myanmar, writes MacKenzie, could bring such partnerships back.
While some companies have withdrawn their business from the region, the author agues that those who remain are bound to enter into controversial relationships with military groups.
