Sir Graham Brady has been the Conservative Member of Parliament (MP) for Altrincham and Sale West, in England, since 1997.
In 2018 he was awarded a knighthood for “political and public service”.1

Background

Brady has served as:

  • Chairman of the 1922 Committee (May 2010 – May 2019)
  • Shadow Minister for Europe (September 2004 – May 2007
  • Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Leader of the Opposition (September 2004 – May 2007)

Accepted Tobacco Hospitality

In March 2019 Brady accepted “Dinner at the British Museum for my wife and me, value under £600” from Japan Tobacco International (JTI).2

Votes on Tobacco Legislation

  • In 2015, Brady voted against the introduction of Plain Packaging.3
  • In 2014, Brady voted for legislation that made it an offence to smoke in a vehicle with children in it.
  • In 2010, Brady voted for allowing pubs, and private members clubs where no food is served, an exemption from the smoke free legislation
