Jerry Whitson has been Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Philip Morris International (PMI) from 2011.1
He joined PMI in 2010 as Vice President and Deputy Corporate Secretary.2

Long Standing Relationship with the Tobacco Industry

Prior to his employment with PMI, Whitson was employed by law firm Hunton & Williams and served 25 years as external corporate counsel for PMI’s former parent company Altria.
During this time, Whitson was involved, among other things, in the 2008 acquisition of U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company by Altria, and the PMI spin off from its parent company that same year.
