Background

David Bowden was Associate Director at the Academy of Ideas (previously termed the Institute of Ideas) until 2016. He is the coordinator of the UK Battle Satellite programme, which organises an annual ‘Battle of Ideas’.1

Bowden co-founded the Academy of Ideas’ Current Affairs Forum. In 2019 he was listed as ‘Associate Fellow’.2

Previously a columnist for The Free Society, Bowden is a journalist and commentator with PR and communications experience.1 The Free Society was a campaign run by the tobacco industry front group Forest, whose website went offline around February 2015.3
