Thomas McCoy

Thomas (‘Tom’) McCoy was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Japan Tobacco International (JTI) from 2013 to 2017.[1]

McCoy retired on 31 March 2017, and was succeeded by Eddy Pirard.[1]

Long-Standing Career in the Tobacco Industry

McCoy began working in the tobacco industry in 1985, when he joined American tobacco company RJ Reynolds as Marketing Director.[2] In 1999, Japan Tobacco acquired RJ Reynolds International, and McCoy started working for JTI. He became JTI’s CEO when Pierre de Labouchere resigned his post as JTI’s CEO in December 2013.[3]
