Louis C. Camilleri

Louis Carey Camilleri was Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Philip Morris International (PMI) between 2008 and 2013.[1]

He retired officially from PMI on 31 December 2014 but remained non-employee Chairman of the tobacco company.[1]

Long-Standing Career in the Tobacco Industry

Prior to his employment with PMI, Camilleri was Chairman and CEO of the Altria Group. Joining the company in 1978, Camilleri held various posts with the company and its subsidiaries, including:[1]

  • Chairman of Kraft Foods Inc. between September 2002 and March 2007
  • Director of Kraft Foods Inc. between March 2001 and December 2007
  • Chief Financial Officer of Altria between November 1996 and April 2002

Affiliations

Ferrari

Camilleri has been a Board member of car manufacturer Ferrari from October 2015.[1][2][3] Ferrari’s 2016 annual report documented that Camilleri earned an annual remuneration of €214,987 for this role.[4]

PMI has sponsored Ferrari’s Formula One activities since 1984.[5]

Camilleri served as Director of beer company SABMiller from 2002 to 2004.[2]
